A Kerothian Dragon's Tale Chapter 4
Over the course of the weekend and early into the next week the mood remained rather tense, it seemed like everyone was waiting for the other boot to drop. It turned out that the damage to generators 4 and 6 at Noraster Winds Power Plant was mostly superficial other than the thermal insulation, so by Tuesday all but unit 5 were operational again. That helped some with the concerns about the reliably of the grid, but not the overall unease about all the problems that had happened. My immediate concern though, was our equivalent to Thanksgiving, which always happened halfway between the autumnal equinox and the winter solstice. So it was always on the 7th of November and the preparations had already started. It’s a fairly old holiday about the celebration of the harvest and time spent with family. Though my thoughts were focused on keeping people safe should another attack happen. The day soon arrived and went rather well, no big attacks happened much to the King's and my relief. It was

The Sunday after the explosion started normally, though there was an extra prayer for peace inserted at the end of the church service. I thought that was a rather fitting addition and after the service Firetail and I spent the day relaxing at the castle. As the week progressed, I expected more major problems to happen, but none did, just another missing shipment. The news early in the week focused on the explosion, and it seemed like over all people were worried. Things at the shop continued as normal though with more grain dryer motors. The week after that seemed rather mundane as well. Though I did note that demand for the types of locks used to secure trucks had gone up after a report that the truck that exploded had been stolen came out. As August rolled into September the number of motor jobs slowed Fdown as was typical for the start of the new year on Kerothia. This slowdown meant I had more free time and that was a good thing as a local railway historical society approached me

The next few weeks that led into late summer continued much as the ones prior had, with the higher rate of lost shipments. The Navy’s investigation into the loss of the Etanakayra came to much the same conclusion as Captain Yakyues, that it was a pirate attack, so they increased the number of patrols in that part of the ocean. It seemed like that it had at least worked, as there seemed to be no other ships lost to pirates. The weather had started to turn bit cooler but at sea cyclone season was now in full swing. There had been plenty of jobs related to fans and refrigeration systems come into my shop, as was normal for summer, but those were starting to slow down a little, just in time for the grain dryer motors to start showing up. However, the weather threw a spanner in the form of a remnant of one of the cyclones that passed over the capital and dumped several inches of rain on it along with some high winds. Typically, after a major storm we inspected the castle for wind and water

The next few weeks were rather routine for me as the main things I had to deal with were normal tasks associated with being a duke. Things like dealing with various reports, monitoring tared and making sure infrastructure was inspected to catch problems early. Perhaps the most noteworthy part of that was that I oversaw the inspection of one of the older train stations that was still in use. I still had the repair business to look after as well, and it seemed a bit more stuff came in than normal, but I didn’t think much of it as things like that just came in waves at times. There was one other thing though that seemed a bit odd, a few more delayed or missing shipments than normal. Which brought me to why I was on a private train on its way out to a medium sized town in the mountains to inspect a copper mine. It was currently mid-morning and we had just left the city and its the main built-up area around it as I now only saw the occasional building go by as we went through an area of

A Kerothian Dragon's Tale Prologue
Humans have many views on Dragons. To some they are wise guardians, to others they are the forces of nature in physical form, still others see them as deities. Sadly, many also see them as either monsters to be destroyed or just ‘scaly horses’ to be tamed. A few have other views that comes closer, seeing dragons as intelligent, loyal friends, that may or may not be capable of human speech but at least suggest they are sapiens. However, even those people tend to get dragon culture wrong. The same can be said for art, some is very very wrong in various ways, some comes close, and some is almost spot on. How do I know all this about Dragons? It’s simple, I am a dragon. Maybe I should elaborate a bit more on this with a simple introduction. My name is Thunderclaw, though many call me Sir Thunder, but more on that later. I am a copper and cyan lightning dragon that humans would probably call an Anthro hybrid of an eastern dragon and nightfury. I come from the Kingdom of Daratres which is
