My Life as a Dragon Part4

I woke up Saturday morning feeling well rested but still worried about the Hierarchy. Figuring that the best way to get my mind off of that would be to work on a project, I decided that I would try to finish the safety gear today but first I ate breakfast. After eating I got to work. I got online and searched for as many images of the riding gear that Hiccup had made as possible. I figured that it would be a good starting point for my final design. After drawing it up I flew to the flea market to pick up a bunch of old belts. I got lucky and found a huge lot of belts for cheap and bought it. That got me a few stares especially when the seller found out why I needed them.

"Why would a dragon want to make riding gear?" the seller who was female asked.

"So I can safely give rides to my friends" I answered.

"But why would a dragon want to do that, especially one who used to be human?" she said.

"Well I feel that since I was blessed with the gift of flight that I should share it" I replied.

"Fair enough and good luck" she responded.

"Thanks and bye" I said as I left.

I flew home and got to work. I did not finish it but I did at least get a rough "frame" done. I would have gotten more do if I did not have to mow the grass again. After mowing I remembered that I had not run my Cushman engine since being turned into a dragon. I scolded myself for forgetting to give it its weekly exercise runs. Well better go run better late than never I thought. As I got the Cushman ready to run, I discovered that the cooling tank was dry. For a moment I thought it had sprung a leak but then I remembered that others had said that moisture was pulled from the surrounding area when they were transformed. I put 2 gallons of water in it and put the hand crank on the end of the crankshaft. I made sure the spark timing lever was at the starting position, turned on the oiler and opened the fuel valve. Then I pulled the crank and was immediately worried that the engine had somehow lost compression. I shut off the fuel, removed the spark plug, placed my left paw over the spark plug hole and turned the crank. To my relief I did feel suction during the intake stroke. I face pawed as I realized that the only reason why I thought it lost compression was that I forgot that I was stronger than before. I put the spark plug back in and tried starting the engine again. It worked perfectly and thanks to my draconic hearing I could hear all of the different noises that it made. After running it for about 15 minutes I turned it off and went inside.

Once I was inside I ate supper and while I was eating I saw that the clouds were starting to get dark. Seeing that caused me to hurry up and finish eating. As soon as I was done I booted my PC and check the weather radar. While looking at it my dad called to say the he thought that we should got do some storm spotting I agreed and told him to drive his car to our normal storm spotting location. Next I grabbed my camera and cellphone, put on the dravicom and flew to that location. Just from that short flight I could tell that the conditions were perfect for strong storms. I saw that his car was already there.

"It's kind of turbulent" I said.

"I'm not surprised, are you going to get in the car" Dad commented and asked.

"I'll try" I answered.

I opened the right front door and got into the seat and immediately realized that this was not going to work, sure I fit but it was too awkward for storm spotting. I ended up moving the seat all that way forward and reclining it so the headrest almost touched the back seat. Then I lay on top of it like a cat lying on its belly with my tail resting on the back seat. Despite looking very awkward this was actually fairly comfortable.

"Are you going to be alright" My dad asked.

"I'm fine it just looks weird" I answered.

"This reminds me of when Foxy tries to get into a small box" he commented.

"Well this car wasn't built for 7 foot tall dragons" I said.

With the exception of lots of lightning, the storms were just typical storm, but when talking about strong storms that is a good thing. I did get a few good pictures of the lightning so it was not a complete waste of time. After the storms past I reset the passenger seat and flew home. Once I was home I uploaded some of the pictures of the lightning. Sunday was about as routine as possible I guess the congregation saw getting used to having a dragon in the church. Monday and Tuesday morning into the afternoon were spent working on the safety gear. That Evening I flew to trade school for the first day of small engine repair class. I entered the building and showed the lady at the desk my ID so that she would know who I was.

"So you got transformed recently?" she asked.

"Yep and I like being a dragon especially being able to fly" I answered.

"Well I checked and you're registered so you can go to the class the room is here, good luck" she said pointing to the location of the room on a floor plan of the school.

"Thanks, is there a textbook?" I asked making note of the location and number of the room.

"Yes do you have money to by one?" she replied.

"I do" I answered.

"One minute please" she said walking into a back room.

A few minutes later she came out with the book the price was quite reasonable so I immediately bought it and put it in the bag I was using to carry a note book that I assumed I would need. Then I opened the door between the office and main entrance, exited the office and started walking towards the classroom. One of the nice things was that the doors were over 7 feet tall so I walk on 2 legs without having to duck at the doorways. I finally reached the class room and since the teacher was not there yet found the door locked so I just sat in the alcove near it. There were a few other students waiting there and as I expected they started talking to me.

"If you are taking this class it is going to be really fun" said a man who I guessed was in his late 40's.

"What makes you say that? Oh and you can call me Wattojawa" I said.

"Well Wattojawa just look at yourself, by the way I'm Bob" he said gesturing to all of me.

"You just gestured to all of me" I said.

"That's just it all of you is a dragon" said Bob.

"Yes do you have a problem with that" I said still sitting on the floor.

"Well, my name is Dan and I don't" said a second student probably in his 30's.

"I'm Joe and I don't mind it either" said a third one.

"May I ask who the rest of you are?" I asked.

"My name is Tom and they are Jim and Jeff" said the fourth one, pointing to the other 2.

"Nice to meet you all, where is the teacher class is supposed to start in 5 minutes?" I replied.

I heard the door that led from the side hallway to the alcove open and the teacher walked in. His hair was white but otherwise he looked like he was in his 50's. He said "Hi Class" and unlocked the door to the classroom. We went in to the class room I saw that to my annoyance that the school used chairs that did not have a large hole in the back. So I would be unable to sit in them comfortably for a long time, but there was a office chair by the computer desk so I took that and sat in it. As expect the teacher started by telling us his name, Russell (yes that is his first name), and asking us what we preferred to be called by. As he was doing that he finally noticed me.

"Well I do believe we have a dragon in the class. You're John right?" he asked.

"Yes but I would prefer if you use my nickname, Wattojawa" I said.

"All right Wattojawa I'm assuming you weren't always a dragon correct?" he asked.

"That's correct I've only been one for about 3 weeks, and no questions now we can do that at the end of class" I answered.

With that out of the way Russell handed out syllabuses and started going over shop safety rules. It got interesting during the part about flammable liquids.

"Why can't you use gasoline as a cleaner?" asked bob.

"When you use a wire brush it almost always creates sparks and even though they are too small to see they can still ignite the gas" Russell answered.

"I suppose no breathing fire except to braze something and no spitting plasma bolts in the shop either" I said.

"What's a plasma bolt?" asked Jeff.

"The stuff that Toothless shoots in How to Train Your Dragon" I answered.

"You can do that please show us after class" said Joe.

"I will, now back to the safety discussion." I replied.

"I want to know more about dragons too but I need to finish the class first" said Russell.

The class got back on track and since it was sort of an intro class it ended around 8:30. When it ended Russell showed us the back entrance and said we could park back there. I had followed on all fours and as we steeped outside I heard Jim ask "Does he know he is walking like that?"

"Yes I do know I'm walking this way" I answered.

"Why did you walk that way?" Dan asked.

"Because I can" I replied.

"So what's it like to be a dragon?" asked Tom.

"Well what do you what to know first, it's kind of hard to give a general statement about it?" I asked back.

"You're on 4 legs right now, how does that feel?" asked Jim.

"Well it feels different then being 2 legs but its not like walking on 4 legs feels better than walking on 2 or vice versa" I answered.

"What do dragons eat?" Jeff asked.

"What ever we want, we are omnivores" I replied.

"How would you describe flying?" said Joe.

"Well it can be both trilling and relaxing just depending how I fly" I responded.

"Will you breathe fire for us?" asked Dan.

"Yes just stand back" I said.

I tilted my head upward and released a jet of blue flame and then I fired one of my plasma bolts.

"Oh wow!" exclaimed Dan.

"So what sort of fuel is your fire made from?" asked Russell.

"I think it is oxygen acetylene based" I replied.

"Does breathing fire hurt?" asked Tom.

"Nope, feels spicy though" I answered.

"What did turning into a dragon feel like?" asked Jeff.

"Well, it felt really weird; it started with a feeling of heat in my hands which spread through my body. The scales growing produced a pricking sensation. Some parts of the transformation did hurt, but it was not unbearable. So over all while it was not real painful it was not pleasant either" I answered.

"How did it happen?" asked Jim.

"Well I found an odd looking stone while mowing, the next day right after I put a new brass gas tank in my antique Cushman Model21 TypeX stationary engine, I got shocked my the spark plug wire and that caused me to break the stone" I replied.

"Can you bring the engine in sometime?" asked Russell.

"Yes, and I would like to go home now" I said.

"Well I'm satisfied with his answers how about the rest of you?" asked Russell.

"We are satisfied" the other students replied.

"Ok bye everyone see you Thursday" I said as I spread my wings for takeoff.

I flew home and went to bed. The next day I got back to work on the safety gear, which was now almost finished. I finished the riding safety gear on Thursday morning. With that done I flew to Smith Electric to find out how things were going for James. While I was at the motor shop Casey showed up. Casey used to work in the steel shop now he works somewhere else but he brings motors to Smith Electric when they break. He collects David Bradley and Sears Cub tractors. When he saw me he asked, "James why is there a dragon in your shop?"

"That dragon is Wattojawa" James answered.

"Well you have really changed, do you want real tractor to replace your Wheel Horses?" asked Casey.

"No I don't want to replace my tractors. While we are on the subject of tractors, did you know that I have a stationary engine?" I said.

"You have a stationary engine, got any pictures?" Casey asked.

"Yes I do just give me a minute" I replied.

I used James's laptop to access my Photobucket. Casey was impressed that I managed to get a fairly uncommon engine cheap. I showed him the video of it running on youtube as well.

"It runs well you should take it to the Fall Old Tyme Days next weekend and or to Steam O Roma the week after that" he suggested.

"I might do that. When you said next weekend you meant the final weekend of September right?" I asked.

"Yes" he answered.

"Oh the big grinder in the back of the shop is mine. I plan on modifying it to run off of my engine" I said.

"Your motor is fixed" said James to Casey.

"Well I would like to talk more Wattojawa but I need to put this motor back into the air conditioner, bye" stated Casey.

"Bye, I hope to see you at the shows" I replied.

As Casey left Mr. Riggit showed up and for once he did not need my help. I did manage to find out that he would probably be at Steam O Roma, running a food stand. Once he left I also decided to go home, mostly so I had extra time to get ready before class. I removed all the stuff that I had in the back of my van to make room for the engine. Then I got 2 boards that I would use as ramps to get the Cushman into the Sandcrawler. I wheeled the engine outside and wondered if I could even do this myself. Just out of curiosity, I tried to pickup my engine and discovered that I could lift it completely off that ground. My concern had been not weather I could lift it, but rather could I remain balanced. It turned out that I could but I had to be careful. Since I could lift it, I just put it in my van without bothering to use the ramps. Once it was in my van I secured my running a ratchet strap through the spokes of the cart wheels.

I went back inside and booted my PC to quickly check a few things. While I was online I posted a journal saying that I would be going to Old Tyme Days and Steam O Roma and that I would take my engine to at least one of them, and then I ate. After I finished eating I got into the Sandcrawler and drove to the school. When I arrived I parked in the back parking lot and took the engine out of my van. I heard a truck approach it turned out to be Russell.

"So I see you brought it" he said.

"Yes I did and I plan on taking it to at least one engine and tractor show" I replied.

Several more autos pulled in.

"I see you brought your engine and van" said Jeff.

"I guess I am going to wheel it into the shop to run it after bit" I said.

"How the heck does a dragon drive a car?" asked Bob.

"Same way as anyone else, by using the well and peddles" I answered.

"He meant how do you fit into it?" replied Jim.

"Let me show you" I said, and then I opened the door of my van, got in and sat down, keeping the door open so they could see how I did it.

"Doesn't it get uncomfortable to sit on your tail?" asked Tom.

"Not really that part of my tail is strong enough to support my weight and the seats are padded I would not want to sit this way for a long time on a hard seat" I answered.

"What about your wings?" asked Dan.

"If I drove for a long distance I would probably stop at least once and hour to stretch my wings and tail" I replied.

"I forgot to ask this last class, are you warm or cold blooded?" said Joe.

"Warm blooded" I answered.

"Ok we are going to be going over the basic operation of 2 and 4 stroke engines today. Wattojawa you may bring your engine into the shop" Russell stated.

"Alright" I answered.

I don't know why, but I decided to wrap the end of my tail around the handle of the engine cart and pulled it inside while walking on all fours.

"That's a clever trick" Joe said.

"Well I was just demonstrating one benefit of having a tail" I replied, letting go of the cart and getting back onto 2 legs.

"Should I run the engine now?" I continued.

"I would like to go over the principle of operation and the basic parts of 2 and 4 cycle engines first" answered Russell.

"Ok" I said.

Since I already knew the basics of 2 and 4 stroke engines I did not pay close attention. One thing that I did learn was an easy way to tell the difference between a 2 and a 4 stroke engine without taking a close look at it. When Russell was done explaining the basics we went back into the shop and he started asking the rest of the class what different parts on my engine were.

"Now can I run it?" I asked.

"Yes" Russell answered.

"Show time" I replied, as I took the crank out of the battery box.

"So you start that engine by turning a crank?" asked Jeff.

"Yes, this is where the term "crank the engine" came from. By the way NEVER attempt to start and engine with a crank if you do not know how to do it safely" I answered.

My engine started on the third crank pull. Once it was running I leaned the fuel until the smoke went away and advanced the spark to the running position.

"Why did you move that lever?" asked Jim.

"To start this engine the spark has to occur after top dead center, but once it's running the spark needs to be before top dead center and the lever changes when the spark occurs" I answered.

"That engine is real quiet" said Tom.

"That seems like a lot of engine for only 1 and 1/2 horsepower" said Bob.

"It's top speed is only 600RPM" I replied.

"And that is fairly fast for a stationary engine many ran at only half of that speed" added Russell.

The questions continued for a while longer. About half an hour after I stated the engine, I saw that the oiler, which had only been half full to start with, was nearly empty so I shut down my Cushman. The timing was perfect because it was time for the class to end so I put the engine back into my van. The other students thanked me for bringing it and I thanked Russell for letting me bring it. With that done I drove home, unloaded the engine and went to bed.

Friday was mostly spent at Smith Electric, when I arrived I knew it was going to be a fun day because Robert and Jeremy had many things to scrap for Smith Supply, and they wanted my help. Which meant I would get to destroy stuff, and who doesn't like being allowed to do that occasionally? I decided that I would do this in my scales only to avoid wrecking my clothes. As I removed my shirt Robert asked "What are you doing?"

"Removing my clothes, I don't want to ruin them" I answered.

"I do not want to the naughty bits of a dragon" said Jeremy.

"You won't they are hidden by my scutes" I replied.

I removed my pants and got onto all fours as that would look less awkward to everyone else.

"Cool Wattojawa you look like a real dragon" said Fred, who had just come back with the crane.

"I'm getting ready to scrap some things and I don't want to ruin my clothes" I answered.

"I'm going to watch this" Fred continued.

"I'm ready to scrap what ever junk you have" I said.

The stuff that needed to be scrapped was a bunch of old appliances, lawnmowers and various other things as well. I immediately started ripping an old dryer apart using my claws to pry things and my flame to cut bolts. Once it was demolished I started tearing something else apart. Jeremy and Robert were working too but they kept their distance from me. I got to something that did not want to come apart easily so I decided that I would try a plasma bolt. In the rush of doing all this I forgot to build up fuel before trying to release the plasma. I did not realize that and was surprised to see lightning shoot out of my mouth.

"I did not know you could shoot lightning" said Robert.

"I didn't know I could do that either" I replied.

"How did you do that?" asked Jeremy.

"I'm not sure, I tried to fire a plasma bolt" I said, and then I realized I forgot the fuel.

"But I forgot to build up fuel and this happened" I continued.

"Do you think you can do it again?" asked Fred.

"I'll try" I answered.

I tried to shoot lightning again and discovered that my theory about how I did it was correct. I guess this is what the lightning bolt on the TF stone meant I thought. We got back to scrapping stuff and were finished around lunchtime. I put my clothes back on and ate. After lunch I worked on getting better control of my lightning. Once I had control of it I decided to try welding again but this time I would attempt to use my lightning instead of my flame. This worked much better and I managed to produce a half decent looking weld. Now I was getting curious as to how much control I had of my lightning. So I grabbed one of the motors from the junked appliance and tried to run it with my lightning. I managed to get it to turn but the smoke came out. I grabbed a second motor and tried again, this time it ran longer. On the third attempt I finally managed to make a motor run. Seeing it work caused me to get excited and lose concentration resulting in the smoke coming out of this motor as well. I'm going to have to be more careful I thought. I ran in to the motor shop to tell James about my new trick.

"James can you come out back for a few minutes, I want to show you something?" I asked.

"Ok does this have anything to do with your lightning power?" he asked back.

"Yes" I said as we walked outside.

I picked up another old motor.

"What are you doing with that motor?" James asked.

"Just watch this" I said.

I shot lightning at the motor and it started running.

"That is a very useful ability" commented James.

I stopped the lightning and replied "I think so too, hey this time I didn't let the smoke out"

"How my motors did you smoke before you got it right?" he asked.

"This is my fourth attempt. The first one turned around a few times and burnt up. The second ran for a few seconds before failing. I managed to get the third one to run longer but the excitement of actually managing to do it made me lose concentration" I replied.

"I guess this makes you a flying dynamo" James said.

"I guess so too and I need to go, bye" I said.

I went home and photographed my lightning. Then I uploaded the photos and entered the DA chat room that I had been using since I was turned into a dragon. Farm (Farm-Fresh), Conner (SnakeKing), Zilla (godzilla99) and Scales (Blackminorscales) were in it.

Wattojawa: I just discovered a new ability

Farm-Fresh: what did you do now?

Wattojawa: Well farm I can shoot lightning

Balckminorscales: 0.=.0

godzilla99: So you're saying that you think that you're a lightning dragon?

SnakeKing: but wattojawa can breathe fire

wattojawa: Conner, fuel is needed for the plasma bolts to work and since I have fuel for those, I also have fuel for normal fire.

blackminorscales: how did you discover it.

wattojawa: well Scales I accidentally forgot to build up fuel before trying to fire a plasma bolt

godzilla99: interesting....

SnakeKing: I think I amy know what would work as a dragon name for you, Thunder Claw, do you like it?

wattojawa: Yes I do Conner I will make it my dragon name, lets start using it

SnakeKing: Okay Thunder Claw.

wattojawa: oh and zilla didn't you say your dragon name is Articus?

godzilla99: yes an if you want you may call me that.

wattojawa: one more thing I can run electric motors with my lightning.

Farm-Fresh: that could be very useful

wattojawa: I think so too Farm ^.=.^

SnakeKing: You should see if you have any other electricity related abilities

wattojawa: Nobody I'll check. @ Scales why did Ian want to know where I lived?

blackminorscales: you'll see, you are going to both engine/tractor shows correct?

wattojawa: Yes I am scales, Old Tyme days is in Fawn Grove and I'm not exactly where Steam O Roma is located.

godzilla99: Thanks for the locations what days are the shows?

wattojawa: Why do you need to know that Zilla?

SnakeKing: Just curious Wattojawa.

wattojawa: Old Tyme days is from Friday the 24th to Sunday the 26th and Steam O Roma is from Thursday the 30th to Sunday the 3rd.

Farm-Fresh: Have fun at the shows ^.=.^

Wattojawa: I will ^.=.^

We chatted for a while longer about various things that are not worth mentioning. After I left the chat I ate and then my dad call to remind me that we had to go to the garden center tomorrow, to pick out trees for the church's picnic woods. I found some more good How to Train Your Dragon fanfiction and read it before going to bed. The next morning I ate and flew over to my parents' house. The cats were now used to me being a dragon and I soon had several wanting to play with me. So I got onto all fours and played with them. My dad came out into the living room where I was playing with the cats.

"Dad are you ready to got to Luke's Garden Center?" I asked.

"Yes, just go get in the car" he said.

"Thanks for offering me a ride but I want to fly so just give me the address and I will fly there" I said.

"Ok John here is the address" Dad said giving me address.

I went outside, heard the garage door open and saw my dad's car head down the driveway. As he left I entered the address into the dravicom, turned on the nav lights and took off. Even though I flew slowly I still managed to beat my dad to Luke's Garden Center. While waiting for my dad to catch up I flew around above the center just enjoying the view. I saw that Harry's truck was there and I assumed that he was inside talking to Luke. My dad arrived and went up the long driveway and I landed next to the car as he got out of it.

"I wonder what Luke is going to say when he finds out I'm a dragon?" I said.

"Well we're about to find out" dad said as he opened the door.

"Hi Pastor Martin nice to see you and who is the dragon?" asked Luke.

"Hello Reverend and hi John" said Harry.

"So you son got turned into a dragon, oh deer, when did that happen?" asked Luke.

"About 3 1/2 weeks ago" dad answered.

"And I like it" I added.

"Well, shall we go pick out some trees?" asked Harry.

"Follow me" said Luke, as he headed toward a side hallway in the building.

We followed him past some greenhouses attached to the main building and went outside. We ended up at a golf cart and Luke told us to get in an he would drive us around the nursery. Instead of getting in I dropped to all fours.

"That's a clever idea, using a golf cart to move customers around" Harry commented.

"It's faster than walking" answered Luke.

"Unless you're a dragon" I added.

"Aren't you getting in?" asked Luke.

"Nope, my tail would get in the way" I replied.

"We don't mind making room for your tail" said Luke.

"I don't want to inconvenience you" I said.

"And I don't want to have to make you run around as if you were an animal" Luke continued.

"Are you referring to the fact that I am currently standing on 4 legs? Because if so it does not bother me at all, I like doing it" I replied, getting slightly annoyed and twitching my tail.

"Well if you think you can keep up, you may walk or run if you want to?" Luke said.

"I can keep up and I do want to walk" I answered.

"Ok then lets go" Luke replied.

Luke started the golf cart and drove off. I followed them and had no trouble keeping up. When we stopped at the first group of trees, Luke said "You don't look tired or exhausted in any way."

"Well, dragons fly and we have lots of endurance because of that" I explained.

We discussed some things about the type of tree at this location and then went to many other locations to see other types of trees. While we moving around, I spotted a TF stone and placed it in one of my pockets. After seeing many kinds of trees we decided what types we wanted. Then we went back to the locations that they were growing and selected which trees we wanted. After that Harry and my dad went inside to discuss when the trees would be delivered with Luke and I flew home, since that was some thing that I did not have to precipitate in.

Once I was home I ate lunch and put the TF stone in a safe location. After doing that I flew to Teddy's house because I had not seen him in awhile. I did remember the safety gear but Teddy wanted to play dragon slayer. I reminded him that he needs a dragon if he wants to fly but he insisted so I went along with it. After our fake battle he said that he wanted to fly so I put the safety gear on us and took off. Once we were in the air I spotted Owen's blue Piper.

~Hi Blue Chief this is Dragon Slayer~ I transmitted.

~It looks like you have a passenger Wattojawa~ Owen replied.

~Yeah he's my cousin's son~ I answered.

~You know that there is a fly in at the York airport in 3 weeks right?~ Owen said.

~No I didn't, thanks Owen~ I replied.

~I can't talk any longer I'm about to enter the traffic pattern~ he answered.

~Bye~ I replied, turning back toward Teddy's house.

I flew teddy around some more, then I dropped him off and flew home. When I got home I ate supper and then I flew to Melissa's house to see if she wanted to go for an evening flight. I knocked on the door and Sophi answered.

"Hi Sophi is Melissa home?" I asked.

"Yes she is John" she answered.

"Then can you ask her to come out here?" I asked.

"Yes. Melissa John is here, he wants to talk to you" Sophi said.

"I'll be right there" said Melissa.

Melissa came outside and asked "What do you want?"

"I want to know I you would like to go flying? The weather is perfect and I have finished the safety gear" I asked.

"I would love to go flying" Melissa answered.

"All right I'll help you with the safety gear and then we can go" I said.

Melissa was able to figure out how to put on the safety harness so I did not have to do much to help her. Once I made sure she was not going to fall off we took off and slower flew around the country side. There were many low lying puffy clouds. Taking a hint from HTTYD, I flew close enough that we could touch them. Seeing the sun set from within the layer of clouds was amazing. I was glad that I remember my camera so I could get a few pictures of it. As the sun went below the horizon I turned off my strobe lights. As it got darker I climbed above the cloudes and shut off all the tights on the Dravicom so that they would not wash out the stars.

"Well have you been enjoying this?" I asked.

"Yes the view is amazing and I think you're amazing too" Melissa said and then she wrapped her arms around my neck.

My cheek scales turned fire engine red.

"You know that there is no way I can hug you right now" I said.

"That's ok I think I am now starting to understand why you have seemed so much happier since you became a dragon" she replied.

"Exactly it is so peaceful up here but I can make it exciting if I want to" I said.

"You mean by doing the sort of crazy flying you did with Harvey?" she asked.

"Exactly" I answered and then I glanced at my watch and realized it was after 9 O'clock.

"It's getting late and we need to rest for church tomorrow. The past 3 hours flew" I said.

"You mean it's after 9 already you're right we should go home" she said.

I flew back to her house. She got out of the safety gear and knocked on the door. When Sophi opened it I said "We're back."

"I see that, did you have fun?" Sophi asked.

"Yes" said Melissa, she continued "And I hope we can keep doing this."

"We can but it's getting late I need to go home" I said.

"Goodnight" they said.

I flew home and went straight to bed. The next day after church I took Harvey for his second flight and he decided that he might want to be a dragon. I also demonstrated my lightning and gave Melissa another ride too. Then next few days were fairly normal, I went to the DMV to have my dragon name added to my ID and let the rest of my dragon friends on DA know about it. I also fixed things for various people and on the Tuesday and Thursday evening I went to class again. They really liked the lightning. On Friday I loaded my Cushman and extra water, gas, oil and grease into the Sandcrawler, so that I could take it to the first show. But first I drove to Smith Electric to show it to James. When I got there I lifted it out of my van and went inside to get James. Since Robert could not seem to believe that anyone would make an engine like my Cushman he wanted to see it too. As we walked outside Robert noticed a group of dots in the air and said "What's that?"

James was looking in that direction and said "I don't know."

I turned to look at what they were looking at and realized that they were dragons.

"I think that they are dragons" I said.

About a minute later 8 dragons, a dragon naga, and a gryphon landed in the open area behind the building.

"Are you Thunder Claw, the dragon with the screen name wattojawa?" the gryphon asked.

"Yes I am. What do you want?" I answered.

"We wanted to meet you" it answered.

Okay this is going to change my plans I thought.

So apparently I can "breathe" lightning gee do you think the fact that my TF stone had a lightning bolt shaped symbol on it had anything to do with.

Also I now have a dragon name and I think the since I can breath lightning Thunder Claw fits me well.

Cake for anyone who can guess who the 8 dragons and gryphon are. (you don't have to get them all right)

The fire is like hydrogen since it can be ionized into a plasma, and burns quite hot. It's also easier to synthesize than acetalyne, presumably. Excuse my typos, on my phone. Also, I caught the AD:JL ref last chapter. I miss that show.
